PIAA BOYS SWIMMING: PAIR OF ATHENS RELAYS REACH CONSOLATION FINALS AT DAY 1 OF STATE MEET (23 PHOTOS) (2025-03-12)

LEWISBURG — Both of Athens' relays at Wednesday morning's preliminaries at the PIAA Class AA Boys Swimming Championships reached the consolation finals Wednesday night here at Bucknell University.

Sophomores Eli Hicks and Brayden Pettitt, and seniors Ethan Hicks and Ryan Gorman teamed to finish 11th in the 200-yard medley relay in a time of 1:40.69.

The foursome swam the 13th-fastest time in the preliminaries, touching in at a time of 1:41.81 to advance to the consolation finals.

Eli Hicks, Ethan Hicks, Gorman, and senior Ronel Ankam teamed to finish 14th in the 200-yard freestyle relay in a time of 1:32.26.

The foursome swam the 12th-fastest time in the preliminaries, clocking in at 1:31.67.

Pettitt finished 17th in the 200-yard IM in a time of 1:00.84

Ethan Hicks finished 19th in the 50-yard freestyle in a time of 22.62 seconds.

The Wildcats will swim in three events Thursday, with Pettitt competing in the 100-yard breaststroke, Eli Hicks swimming in the 100-yard freestyle, and the Hicks brothers, Pettitt, and Ankam will team up in the meet-closing 400-yard freestyle relay.
