Valley Sports ReportTHE VALLEY — The 2025 spring season begins Tuesday with the Sayre baseball and softball teams on the road at Canton.
BASEBALL
Sayre at Canton, 4:30 p.m.: The Redskins are coming off a 5-12 season, while the Warriors won the division with a 15-6 record.
Last year, Canton topped Sayre, 12-4, in a frigid season-opener at Riverside Park.
Later in the season, the Redskins dropped a 13-11 thriller at Canton.
SOFTBALL
Sayre (5-15) at Canton (4-16), 4:30 p.m.: The Redskins are coming off a 5-15 season, its best record in years, while the Warriors were 4-16.
Last year, the Redskins rallied to beat Canton, 16-8, in the season opener, but the Warriors won the re-match at home, 19-4, nearly a month later.
