WEBSTER, N.Y. — Waverly junior Mira Kittle earned three medals to pace a trio of Waverly Area Aquatics Club swimmers here last week at the Niagara Open Gold Championships at the Webster Natatorium.
Kittle, swimming in the 16-year-old division, finished second in the 50-yard freestyle in a time of 23.7 seconds, and was also second in the 100-yard backstroke in 57.2 seconds.
Kittle placed fourth in the 100-yard butterfly in a time of 57.79. The time would rank ninth all-time in Section IV history had it been clocked during the regular season.
Waverly junior Olivia Cheresnowsky, competing in the 17-year-old division, finished 16th in the 100-yard backstroke in a time of 1:03.3.
She also finished 33rd in the 50 free in 25.58 seconds, and was 38th in the 100-yard butterfly in 1:03.66.
Athens sophomore Dominic Musick, swimming in the 15-year-old division, finished 70th in the 200-yard IM in a time of 2:25.51, and finished 89th in the 100 fly in 59.94 seconds — more than 3 seconds faster than his seed time.
