Valley Sports ReportSAYRE — Loyalsock plated 11 runs in the top of the first inning, and cruised to a 16-1 three-inning win over Sayre here Monday afternoon in non-league baseball action on Ralph Hendershot Field at Riverfront Park.
The Lancers added three runs in the top of the second inning to take a 14-0 lead.
The Redskins scored their only run in the bottom of the second on a lead-off triple by junior Karter Green, who scored on an error on the plate.
Loyalsock scored twice in the top of the third inning to stretch the lead to 16-1, and Sayre was retired in order in the home half of the inning to preserve the mercy-rule win.
Green's triple was the lone hit of the game for the Redskins.
Sayre drops to 0-4, and hosts NTL Small School rival Cowanesque Valley Tuesday.
