Valley Sports ReportTROY — Senior Rose Shikanga won a pair of events, and senior Marco Quiros and junior Emma Cole each won one event to pace Sayre's efforts here Tuesday in an NTL track & field tri-meet.
GIRLS
Troy 94, NEB 64, Sayre 20
Shikanga won the 200-meter dash in a time of 28.83 seconds. She also won the 100-meter hurdles in a time of 16.04 seconds.
Shikanga placed second in the 300-meter hurdles in a time of 54.02 seconds, and finished third in the 100-meter dash in a time of 13.85 seconds.
Cole won the discus with a toss of 76-feet, 9-inches.
BOYS
Troy 120, NEB 44, Sayre 18
Senior Marco Quiros won the 200-meter dash in a time of 22.72 seconds. He finished second in the 100-meter dash in 11.68 seconds
Sophomore Declan Barry finished second in the 300-meter hurdles in a time of 53.25 seconds, and freshman Jayden Torres was fourth in 1:05.01.
Barry also finished fourth in the triple jump with an effort of 31-feet, 7-inches.
Sophomore Hudson Malanoski placed third in the javelin with a throw of 101-feet, 1-inch. Malanoski also placed third in the shot put with a heave of 38-feet, 8-inches. He finished fourth in the discus with a toss of 91-feet, 7-inches.
Sayre returns to action Friday afternoon at the Kirby Classic in Canton.
