JOHNSON CITY — The Waverly girls won a pair of relays, and finished second in the other to lead the way to a fourth-place finish here Sunday at the Square Deal Track & Field Invitational, while senior Nic Mattison, junior Troy Beeman, and freshman Drayton DeKay paced the Waverly boys' efforts.
GIRLS
Oneonta won the team title with 93 points, while Sidney was second with 73, Ithaca placed third with 59 points, and Waverly and Bainbridge-Guilford each tallied 57 points.
Sophomores Makenzie Olmsted and Ryleigh Judson, junior Mackenzie Chamberlain, and senior Harper Minaker won the 3,200-meter relay in a time of 10:46.6.
Juniors Haley Larrabee and Kaitlyn Sutton, sophomore Ryleigh Judson, and freshman Kaylin Twedt teamed to win the 1,600-meter relay in a time of 4:17.68.
Larrabee, Sutton, Twedt and freshman Gianna Soprano teamed to finish second in the 400-meter relay in a time of 53.43 seconds.
Judson finished third in the long jump with a leap of 14-feet, 8-inches.
Larrabee finished fourth in the 400-meter dash in a time of 1:04.88, and Judson was fifth in 1:05.12.
Twedt finished fifth in the 200-meter dash in a time of 26.97 seconds, and Soprano was 17th in 30.07 seconds.
Freshman Kendall Rockwell finished sixth in the high jump at 4-feet, 6-inches, and sophomore Taylor Sinsabaugh placed sixth in the 3,000-meter run in a time of 13:59.03.
Makenzie Olmsted finished seventh in the 800-meter dash in a time of 2:44.98, and senior Maddy Olmsted was 12th in 2:52.19. Makenzie Olmsted finished eighth in the 1,500-meter run in a time of 5:43.01.
Twedt finished eighth in the 100-meter dash in a time of 13.46 seconds, and Sutton was 12th in 13.92 seconds.
Sutton finished 10th in the triple jump with a mark of 28-feet, 5 1/4-inches.
Senior Addison Westbrook finished 11th in the discus with a toss of 67-feet.
Soprano finished 13th in the 100-meter hurdles in a time of 21.1 seconds.
Rockwell finished 13th in the shot put with a heave of 23-feet, 9-inches, and Westbrook was 14th in 23-feet, 8 3/4-inches.
BOYS
Ithaca won the team title with 97 points, while Vestal was second with 93.5 points, and Horseheads was third with 85. Waverly tallied 44.33 points.
Mattison and Riley Pipher, junior Hayden Howe, and freshman Hayden Montanye finished second in the 3,200-meter relay in a time of 8:52.82.
Beeman finished second in the discus with a toss of 123-feet, 1-inches, and sophomore Carson Rockwell was 12th at 88-feet.
Beeman placed third in the shot put with a heave of 41-feet, 3 1/2-inches, and senior Payton Fravel was ninth at 37-feet, 5 3/4-inches.
Mattison placed fourth in the 800-meter dash in a time of 2:09.33.
Freshman Drayton DeKay finished fourth in the pole vault, clearing the bar at 9-feet, 6-inches. He placed fifth in the triple jump with a mark of 35-feet, 9 1/2-inches.
Pipher finished sixth in the 400-meter hurdles in a time of 1:06.04.
Freshman Jaxon Chandler finished seventh in the 110-meter hurdles in a time of 19.61 seconds. Chandler finished eighth in the high jump with a mark of 5-feet, 2-inches.
Mattison, Pipher and Chandler teamed with junior Carter Davies to finish seventh in the 1,600-meter relay in a time of 3:52.97.
Sophomore Chase Hine placed eighth in the 3,200-meter run in a time of 11:20.63.
Freshman Conner Collazo finished 12th in the long jump with a leap of 17-feet, 6 1/2-inches, and sophomore Bryce LaForest was 16th at 17-feet.
Junior Andrew Larrabee finished 13th in the 200-meter dash in a time of 25.16 seconds, and DeKay was 15th in 25.37 seconds.
Montanye finished 14th in the 1,600-meter run in a time of 5:16.99, and freshman Garret Akins was 23rd in 6:57.57.
Fravel finished 16th in the 100-meter dash in a time of 12.15 seconds, and Larrabee was 22nd in 12.41 seconds.
Sophomore Rylen Larson finished 19th in the 400-meter dash in a time of 1:04.85, and sophomore Trent VanDyke was 21st in 1:05.95.
Waverly returns to action Thursday at the Molly Dry Invite at Mansfield University.
