VALLEY SPORTS REPORT: TIOGA'S KITHCART, WAVERLY'S BUBNIAK, SAYRE'S QUIROS NAMED BISHOP BROTHERS CONSTRUCTION 'ATHLETES OF THE WEEK' (2025-04-13)

WAVERLY — Tioga 8th-grader Kate Kithcart shined in the circle and at the plate in a pair of wins, while Waverly 7th-grader Paige Bubniak had three multi-hit games and hit her first varsity home run, and Sayre's Marco Quiros continued his strong senior season at the Northwest Rangers Invite. They are the VSR / Bishop Brothers Construction "Athletes of the Week," for the week ending April 12.

TIOGA'S KITHCART, WAVERLY'S BUBNIAK NAMED BISHOP BROTHERS CONSTRUCTION GIRLS "ATHLETES OF THE WEEK"
Kithcart earned a pair of wins in the circle, and hit .875 in a pair of Tioga wins.

In 11 innings, Kithcart allowed one run on four hits, while striking out 16 and walking one.

At the plate, Kithcart was 7-for-8 with three doubles, one triple, three runs scored, and three RBI.

Bubniak hit .538 for the Wolverines, who went 2-1 on the week.

Bubniak had seven hits in 13 at-bats with one double, her first varsity round-tripper, six runs scored, and five RBI.

SAYRE'S QUIROS NAMED BISHOP BROTHERS CONSTRUCTION BOYS "ATHLETE OF THE WEEK"
Quiros won two of the three sprint events Friday at the Northwest Rangers Track & Field Invite, and finished second in the third sprint event.

Quiros won the 200-meter dash in 23.03 seconds, and also won the 400-meter dash in 52.03 seconds.

Quiros finished second in the 100-meter dash in a time of 11.6 seconds.
