STAC TENNIS: WAVERLY DROPS 6-1 DECISION AT SUS. VALLEY (2025-04-14)

CONKLIN, N.Y. — Waverly freshmen Kamden Sorenson and Rylie Witman registered their first doubles win of the season, but Susquehanna Valley rolled to straight set wins in the other matches on its way to a 6-1 win here Monday afternoon in STAC tennis action.

Sorenson and Witman dropped a 7-5 decision in the first set to Sam Burkhardt and Sam Pauline, but bounced back to win a 6-2 decision in the second set.

Playing a tie-breaker format in the third set, Sorenson and Witman won 10-6.

Susquehanna Valley won all three singles matches, and picked up a forfeit in the fourth single.

The Sabers also won the other two doubles matches in straight sets.

Waverly, now 1-4, returns to action Tuesday at Oneonta.
