IAC JV SOFTBALL: TIOGA NOTCHES WINS OVER LANSING, WAVERLY (2025-10-16)

LANSING — Olivia Shugars tossed a 1-hitter, and Tioga pounded out 17 hits in a 17-0 four-inning win over Lansing here Monday afternoon in IAC junior varsity softball action.

Shugars had eight strikeouts and two walks in four innings of work, allowing just a two-out double in the first inning.

Kyah Nelson stroked four singles, scored two runs, and had two RBI to lead the Tigers at the plate, while Lindsay Jeffrey singled three times and scored three runs, and Adrienne Delmage singled twice and scored three runs.

Maddie Rogers, Vanessa Pipher and Peyton Ross each singled twice, scored two runs, and drove in one run in the win, while Shugars and Cora Szymanski each singled and scored one run, and Xari Gomillion scored one run.

Tioga took a quick 4-0 lead in the top of the first inning, then blew the game open with nine runs in the third inning to extend its lead to 16-0.

TIOGA 10, WAVERLY 3

At Tioga, Waverly outhit Tioga 8-3, but the Tigers took advantage of nine base on balls and a few wild pitches to post a 10-3 win on Friday.

Peyton Ross and Pipher each singled and scored two runs for Tioga, and Adrienne Delmage singled and scored one run to account for Tioga's three hits.

Chey Moyers scored two runs in the win, while Maddie Rogers, Cora Szymanski, and Olivia Shugars each scored one run

Shugars earned the win for the Tigers. She allowed three runs on eight hits, while striking out 13.

Layla Oechslin, who threw a runner out at the plate, Phoebe Minaker, who threw out a would-be base stealer at third base, and Sophia Storelli each had two singles to pace Waverly at the plate.

Bella Root tripled and scored one run, Addison Temple singled, scored one run, and had one RBI, Chloe Kemmer added a single, and Alaina Nichols knocked in a run.

Root pitched for Waverly and struck out eight.

Anna Fassett added a running catch off a line drive into center field that robbed Tioga of at least two more runs.

Tioga returns to action Tuesday when it hosts Lansing.
