Valley Sports ReportTHE VALLEY — The Athens baseball and softball teams play key league games at Troy this afternoon, and wins will go a long way toward clinching NTL Large School titles for both teams, while Waverly softball hosts unbeaten non-league foe Dundee.
BASEBALL
Athens (9-1) at Troy (7-4), 4:30 p.m.: The Wildcats are coming off a 6-2 win over Towanda Saturday, while the Trojans topped Wellsboro, 14-7.
Athens won the first meeting of the season, 14-4.
SOFTBALL
Athens (9-0) at Troy (6-2), 4:30 p.m.: The Wildcats are coming off a 4-0 win over Northeast Bradford Monday, while the Trojans blanked Wellsboro, 13-0.
Athens won the first meeting of the season, 5-3.
Dundee-Bradford (3-0) at Waverly (4-3), 5:30 p.m.: The Wolverines are coming off a 15-2 loss to Maine-Endwell, while the Scotsmen blanked Red Jacket, 11-0, Tuesday.
TENNIS
Waverly (2-5) at Chenango Valley (4-4), 5 p.m.: The Wolverines dropped a 6-1 decision to Norwich Wednesday, while the Warriors topped Windsor, 5-2.
