THE VALLEY — Athens will have three athletes in action at Day 2 of the PIAA Track & Field Championships Saturday, while the Athens softball team opens play in the District 4 playoffs, and Tioga senior James Luther plays in the Section IV golf championship.

TRACK & FIELD

PIAA, Class AAA Championships, 9 a.m. @ Shippensburg Univ.:
Junior Abby Bronson will run in the 100-meter dash finals in the morning, while senior Jase Babcock will compete in the high jump, and senior Sara Bronson will run the 800 in the afternoon.

SOFTBALL
District 4 Playoffs

Class 4A Semifinals
4-Jersey Shore (10-7) vs. 1-Athens (19-1), noon @ Elm Park, Williamsport: The Wildcats are coming off a come-from-behind, 3-2, win over Towanda Friday, while the Bulldogs dropped a 6-3 decision to Williamsport.

The two teams had two common opponents, with Athens posting a 2-0 mark against those teams, while Jersey Shore was 0-2.

Athens beat Central Columbia, 8-6, South Williamsport, 3-0, while Jersey Shore lost to CC, 4-0, and SW, 11-5.

The winner will face the winner of the game between second-seed Central Columbia and third-seed Midd-West in the Class 4A championship game.

BOYS GOLF
Section IV Individual Medalist Tournament, 9 a.m. @ Soaring Eagles:
Tioga senior James Luther will compete against the best golfers in Section IV on the soggy course at Soaring Eagles.
