
THE VALLEY — Mother Nature has Williamsport in her sights today, and the likelihood of Athens playing for its first-ever District 4 softball title is not good, but the Tioga track & field team will be in action at the Class C Championships.

District 4 Playoffs
Class 4A Championship
1-Athens vs. 2-Central Columbia, 4:30 p.m. @ Elm Park, Williamsport: The Wildcats advanced to the Class 4A title game with a 2-0 win over Jersey Shore Saturday, while the Blue Jays edged Midd-West, 2-1.
Athens has reached the finals twice in school history, losing to Milton in 2012 and Jersey Shore in 2015.
TRACK & FIELD
Tioga at Class D Championships, 3 p.m. @ Marathon: Junior Gavin Albrecht and senior Andrew Earley lead the Tioga boys into action with the top three in each event automatically qualifying for next week's State Qualifier.
Freshman Vida Rossi, sophomore Sadie Marshall, and junior Mia Hall will be among a group of Tioga girls advancing to next week's action.
