MARATHON — Senior Andrew Earley and junior Gavin Albrecht automatically advanced to next week's Section IV Track & Field State Qualifier with top-three finishes here Wednesday at the Class D Championships.

The top times, distances, and heights will determine the remainder of the competitors at the State Qualifier.

Trumansburg ran away with the boys' team title with 125 points, while Bainbridge-Guilford had 81 points, Newfield had 51 points, Tioga was fourth 46 points, and Delhi was fifth with 37 points.

Earley won the 400-meter hurdles in a time of 58.01 seconds, and junior James Miller was eighth in 1:03.8.

Earley placed second in the 110-meter hurdles in a time of 15.91 seconds, and sophomore Elijah Bellis was sixth in 17.14 seconds.

Earley finished fifth in the triple jump with a mark of 39-feet, 9 3/4-inches, and sophomore Alen Winans was 18th at 33-feet, 8 1/4-inches.

Albrecht won the pole vault, clearing the bar at 13-feet, and sophomore Skyler Nelson was 15th at 7-feet.

Seniors Kam Joyce, Dominick Ocasio and Trevor Wheeler, and junior Dominic Palmer teamed to place third in the 1,600-meter relay in a time of 3:44.54.

Albrecht placed fourth in the 100-meter dash in a time of 11.73 seconds, while Joyce finished 13th in 12.28 seconds, and Wheeler was 21st in 12.62 seconds.

Albrecht, Palmer, Joyce and Wheeler teamed to finish fourth in the 400-meter relay in a time of 46.66 seconds.

Albrecht finished 10th in the long jump at 18-feet, 1 3/4-inches, and Palmer was 14th at 14-feet, 6 1/4-inches.

Wheeler placed sixth in the 400-meter run in a time of 54.83 seconds, and Ocasio was 15th in 57.51 seconds.

Winans finished seventh in the high jump at 5-feet, 6-inches (by virtue of fewer misses), and Palmer was eighth at the same height.

Junior Talon Wood placed eighth in the 3,000-meter steeplechase in a time of 11:47.84.

Wood finished 13th in the 800-meter run in a time of 2:21.62, and sophomore Caden Rapp was 18th in 2:27.17. Wood was also 18th in the 1,600-meter run in 5:21.58.

Joyce finished 13th in the 200-meter dash in a time of 24.65 seconds, and Wheeler was 15th in 24.7 seconds.

Freshman Mark McCane finished 19th in the discus with a toss of 97-feet, 3-inches.

Sophomore Markel Watkins finished 23rd in the shot put at 31-feet.

GIRLS
Tioga did not have an athlete reach the podium Wednesday at the Class D Championships.

Freshman Vida Rossi, who missed last week's IAC Championships with a leg injury, finished seventh in the long jump at 14-feet, 7 3/4-inches, and junior Ava Smolinski was 11th at 13-feet, 8 3/4-inches.

Eighth-grader Grace Howey finished seventh in the 100-meter dash in a time of 14.1 seconds.

Sophomore Sadie Marshall finished eighth in the 400-meter hurdles in a time of 1:17.18. She finished 15th in the 100-meter hurdles in a time of 18.84 seconds.

Sophomore Amelia Toomey finished 14th in the shot put with a heave of 25-feet, 7 3/4-inches.

Eighth-grader Natalie Kemp finished 18th in the 400-meter dash in a time of 1:10.58. She was 24th in the 200-meter dash in 31.34 seconds.

Sophomore Sara Prough finished 19th in the discus with a toss of 68-feet.

The State Qualifier is set for Wednesday and Thursday at Union-Endicott.
