DISTRICT 15 LITTLE LEAGUE SOFTBALL (MINORS): ATHENS TOPS TUNKHANNOCK, 7-1; FINISHES OFF POOL PLAY AT 3-0 (2025-06-16)

TUNKHANNOCK — Athens banged out 10 hits in a 7-1 win over Tunkhannock and finished off pool play with a 3-0 record here Monday in the District 15 Little League baseball playoffs.

Athens will now host a game in bracket play Wednesday evening.

Athens scored one run in the first inning, and two more in the second to take a 3-0 lead, then blew the game open with four runs in the fourth inning.

Livia Powers doubled and singled, and had three RBI and Ava Rhodes singled twice, scored two runs, and had two RBI to pace Athens at the plate.

Cece Shangraw singled, scored one run, and drove in one run, while Nora Morales singled and drove in one run, Riley Shores, Breah Wilcox, and Ada Wilson each singled and scored one run, Hadley Liechty scored one run, and Amelia Braunbeck crossed the plate once.

Braunbeck started in the circle for Athens, allowing two hits in two scoreless innings, while striking out four and walking two.

Liechty earned the win, allowing one run in four innings of relief. She fanned nine and walked four.
