Valley Sports ReportATHENS — Southern Tioga's Wesley Seymour tossed a 1-hitter in a 3-0 win over Athens here Saturday afternoon in the championship game of the District 15 Little League Minors Division softball playoffs.
Southern Tioga, playing as the home team, scored a run in the bottom of the first, and that was all Seymour needed.
Seymour fanned 11 and walked none in six innings to earn the win.
Seymour also tossed a 1-hitter with 16 strikeouts and no walks in a 1-0 win over Athens in the winner's bracket finals Tuesday.
Southern Tioga added a pair of insurance runs in the fifth inning to make it 3-0.
Livia Powers stroked a one-out single in the second inning for Athens' lone hit.
Hadley Liechty allowed three runs on four hits, while striking out 11 and walking six in five innings in the circle for Athens.
