Valley Sports ReportWAVERLY — Corning rolled through all three games, including a win over Candor in the championship game of the Waverly Summer Varsity Boys Basketball League here Wednesday night.
Corning opened the night with a 58-27 win over Wyalusing in the quarterfinals, while Candor topped Athens, 33-21.
Waverly beat Towanda, 35-25, to advance to a semi-final match-up against Corning, while Wellsboro edged Troy, 46-40, to advance to play Corning in the semifinals.
In the final four, Corning topped Wellsboro, 48-33, and Candor edged Waverly, 36-32.
In the finals, Corning prevailed 49-36 over Candor.
