NTL VOLLEYBALL: ATHENS WINS FIRST SET; TROY RALLIES FOR 3-1 WIN (2025-08-29)

TROY — Athens started fast with a win in the first set, but defending Large School champion Troy rallied to win the next three sets for a 3-1 win here Thursday night in NTL volleyball action.

The Wildcats won the first set 25-22, but the Trojans reeled off wins of 25-14, 25-17, and 25-20.

Sophomore Ellie Mosher led Athens with 10 kills, seven digs, and 17 serve-receptions, while sophomore Lainey Vosburgh recorded 16 digs and 32 serve-receptions, and freshman Kayla Forbes had 12 digs, and nine serve-receptions.

Junior Meg Wiles had 11 setter assists and seven digs for the Wildcats, while junior Hannah Parrish had 11 assists, four digs, and two service aces, sophomore Kendall Galasso registered three kills and two aces, junior Gretchan Hiley added three kills and two assists, and junior Ella Raynor added five kills.

Athens returns to action Tuesday at Waverly.
