THE VALLEY — Athens junior Connor Davidson accounted for five TDs to lead the Wildcats to a big win, while Waverly's 200-yard medley relay — seniors Mira Kittle and Olivia Cheresnowsky and freshmen Megan Atanasoff and Natalie Steck — continues to break records. They are the Valley Sports Report / Bishop Brothers Construction "Athletes of the Week," for the week ending Sept. 6.
ATHENS' DAVIDSON NAMED BISHOP BROTHERS CONSTRUCTION BOYS "ATHLETE OF THE WEEK"
Davidson threw three TD passes, ran for another TD, and scored on a fumble return in Athens' 56-22 win over Canton.
Davidson completed 7 of 9 passes for 120 yards, and three TDs on passes of 12, 65 and 18 years. He also ran for 104 yards and one TD on just five carries.
Davidson started the scoring in the game with a 20-yard scoop-and-score on the third play of the game. He also had a punt return for a score nullified by a flag.

WAVERLY 200-METER MEDLEY RELAY TEAM NAMED BISHOP BROTHERS CONSTRUCTION GIRLS "ATHLETE OF THE WEEK"
The foursome of Kittle, Cheresnowsky, Steck and Atanasoff broke the pool and meet record, as well as lowering their school record by 3 seconds in winning the 200-yard medley relay at the Wolverine Swimming & Diving Invitational. It's also the fifth-fastest time ever posted in Section IV in the event.
Kittle and Atanasoff also swam on the 400-yard freestyle relay that broke the pool, meet, and school records. Atanasoff and Cheresnowsky swam on the 200-yard freestyle that recorded a first-place finish.
Kittle also won the 50-yard freestyle with a new meet record, and won the 100-yard butterfly in a new school record.
Cheresnowsky won the 100-yard backstroke, and Steck placed second in the 100-yard breaststroke.
