NEWARK, N.J. — Waverly grad Kennedy Westbrook, a redshirt sophomore on the Division I NJIT women's soccer team, dished out another assist to help the Highlanders to a 3-1 over in-state rival Seton Hall.
NJIT led 1-0 at half, and midway through the second half Westbrook launched a direct kick from midfield that ended up being headed into the goal by Kelsey Ramos to make it 2-1.
Westbrook has played 90 minutes in all seven of the Highlanders' games. She has three assists on the season — all coming in the last five games.
Westbrook spearheads an NJIT defense that has allowed just one goal in its last three matches, and has three shutouts on the season.
NJIT, now 4-2-1, returns to action Thursday when it hosts Lafayette.
