Valley Sports ReportWYSOX — Unbeaten Towanda, led by Graham Welles, had five players shoot 41 or better in a 156-166 win over Athens here Thursday afternoon in NTL golf action at the Towanda Golf Club.
Welles carded an even-par 35 on the 2,866-yard front nine, while Owen Savercool and Jason Wickwire each shot rounds of 40, and Boom Thompson and Baylee Clark added matching rounds of 41.
Sophomore Ty Owen led the Wildcats with a 38, while junior Eli Hicks shot a 40, and junior Lucas Grenninger and sophomore Brooke Lyon added rounds of 44.
Sophomore Colin Congdon and freshman Jacob Saxon tacked on non-scoring rounds of 52.
Athens closes out the regular season Wednesday against Canton and Sayre at The Club at Shepard Hills.
