ALFRED, N.Y. — Waverly grad Griff Schillmoeller, a sophomore on the Alfred University men's soccer team, scored his first collegiate goal Wednesday, and it was a game-winner in the Saxons' 3-1 win over Marywood College.
Schillmoeller made the most of his only shot-on-goal in his 20 minutes of play, putting Alfred ahead 2-1 with 32:20 remaining to play.
Schillmoeller, who played just 99 minutes in four games as a freshman, has played 89 minutes in three games this season. He has two shots-on-goal on the season.
Alfred, now 2-3, returns to action Saturday when it hosts Keuka College.
