ODESSA — Senior Sophia Haney and freshman Grace Howey scored second-half goals in an eight-minute span to propel Tioga to a 4-2 win over Odessa-Montour here Monday night in IAC South Small School Division girls soccer action.
"The momentum is coming," said Tioga coach Emily Potter.
"We are connecting our passes, and finding our center-midfielders," she noted. "I like seeing a range of scorers keeping the playing field level.
"The girls are working hard and that’s really all we could ask for," added Potter.
Howey put the Tigers on the board about seven minutes into the contest, and freshman Natalie Kemp scored late in the first half to give Tioga a 2-0 lead at the intermission.
O-M scored in the opening minute of the second half to close the gap to 2-1.
With 32:52 remaining in the contest, Haney scored to make it 3-1, and Howey extended the lead to 4-1 with 24:36 left.
Maddie Raymond scored her second goal of the game with 19:03 left in the contest, but that would be the final tally of the night.
Tioga had an 18-11 advantage in shots-on-goal, and a 5-1 edge in corner kicks.
Junior Marcy Moniz recoded seven saves in net for the Tigers.
Tioga, now 3-2, returns to action Friday when it hosts Moravia.
