THE VALLEY — Tioga senior Logan Bellis had a monster game, while Athens sophomore Ty Owen won NTL gold, and Athens sophomore Alissa Vough ran a pair of very good races. They are the Valley Sports Report / Bishop Brothers Construction "Athletes of the Week," for the week ending Sept. 20.

Bellis, who missed his junior season with a knee injury, had a career game in Tioga's 34-14 win over New York state's top-ranked Class D Delhi.

Bellis ran for 300 yards on 19 carries, scoring on runs of 46, 51, and 85 yards — all in the second half. He also had a 35-yard run to set up Tioga's final score of the game.

Bellis also had two catches for 35 yards, including a 20-yard TD reception to end the first half.

Owen shot a pair of sterling rounds to earn the honor.

On Thursday, Owen shot a 76, with a 38 on the front and a 38 on the back at Corey Creek Golf Course in Mansfield, to win the season-ending NTL Championship tournament.

On Wednesday, Owen earned low-medal honors in the final regular-season match with an even-par round of 37 at The Club at Shepard Hills.

ATHENS' VOUGH NAMED BISHOP BROTHERS CONSTRUCTION GIRLS "ATHLETE OF THE WEEK"
Vough ran a pair of outstanding races to earn "Athlete of the Week."

On Saturday, Vough finished eighth in a field of 160 runners at Owego's Dash in the Dark Night Cross Country Invitational, finishing in a time of 19:58.6.

On Tuesday, Vough placed first in a tri-meet, leading Athens to wins over Wyalusing and Cowanesque Valley.
