BINGHAMTON — Seton Catholic scored three first-half goals on its way to a 5-1 win over Waverly here Thursday night in STAC Central Division boys soccer action.
"I’m very proud of the boys for how they handled themselves tonight," said Waverly coach Jon Rankin. "They played hard and played the best soccer I’ve seen them play this season. They handled themselves very well with Seton's fast-paced game.
"Peyton Robinson, Ian Johnston, Dakota French, and Jesse Lantz played a huge role in denying Seton more goals," he noted.
"Dakota had a phenomenal game tonight," added Rankin. "He came in big when Collin Wheeler had to come out due to an injury that left him out all game."
The Saints ran its lead to 5-0 in the second half.
Freshman Jerrod Brown scored his first varsity goal to put the Wolverines on the board late in the second half.
Seton Catholic had a 25-5 advantage in shots-on-goal.
Aiden Doherty recorded nine saves in net for the Wolverines.
Waverly, now 2-9, returns to action Monday night when it hosts Groton.
