PITTSFORD, N.Y. — Athens grad Mason Lister, a junior on the St. John Fisher football team, made his first start last week, and earned his first collegiate win at quarterback Saturday in the Cardinals' 21-7 victory over Alfred University at Growney Stadium.

Lister completed 14 of 25 pass attempts for 197 yards, including a long of 36 yards.

He also ran 18 times for 68 yards and one TD, including a long of 18 yards. He was also sacked three times for a loss of 42 yards, making his net rushing yards 26. (Sack yards counts against rushing yardage in college football.)

Lister's TD was a 3-yard with 4:44 remaining in the first quarter to put St. John Fisher up 21-7.

For the season, Lister has completed 56.4 percent (31 of 55) of his passes for 419 yards and two TDs, without an interception. He has also rushed for 143 yards and one TD.

St. John Fisher, now 3-1, hosts SUNY Brockport Saturday in the "Courage Bowl" rivalry game. Game time is noon.
