THE VALLEY — Waverly is on the road at Union-Endicott in a battle of state-ranked football teams Saturday afternoon in the marquee match-up of the day.

There are plenty of invitationals on tap today as well with Waverly in action at the Elmira Girls Swimming Invite, Waverly at the Horseheads Volleyball Tournament, and Athens competing in the McDaniel-Baxter Cross Country Invite at Chenango Valley High School.

FOOTBALL
Waverly (4-0) at Union-Endicott (3-0), 2 p.m.:
The Wolverines, ranked 4th in the state in Class B, are coming off a 49-7 win over Johnson City, while the Tigers, ranked 16th in Class A, topped Elmira, 26-7.

Waverly averages 31.8 points per game, and allows just 12.8, while U-E has outscored its opponents by an average of 29.3 to 16.3 points per game.
