Valley Sports ReportTUNKHANNOCK — Seventh-grader Silas Bennett and 8th-grader Lilah Carlson were crowned division champs and led Athens to a team title here Saturday at the Shadowbrook Junior Showcase.
Athens shot a three-player aggregate score of 146 to top runner-up Tunkhannock, which shot a 162, and third-place Elk Lake, which carded a 186.
Bennett led Athens and won the Division A boys field with a 46, the second-lowest round of the day regardless of division.
Carlson, who carded the third-lowest round of the day, shot a 47 to win the girls 8th-grade division.
Rowan Morales shot a 53, while Kolbe Coe carded a 57, and Bryce Coldiron added a 64 to round out Division A players for Athens.
Seventh-grader Eli Reeves shot a 51, and Colton Jennings added a 54 in Division B play.
In the JV Division, freshman Jaxson Holbrook shot a 58, and freshman Caleb Gorsline added a 62.
