Valley Sports ReportMANSFIELD — A pair of Athens grads — Matt Machmer and Damian Hudson — played roles in Mansfield's second straight win to open the season — a 31-0 whitewashing of Caldwell University — here Saturday afternoon at Karl Van Norman Stadium.
Sayre grad Kaden Bennett, also a freshman, saw limited action and recorded two tackles.
Machmer, a freshman, recorded three tackles, including one solo stop, and one interception with a 60-yard return.
Hudson, a freshman, rushed for 36 yards on six carries, including a long of 14 yards.
Mansfield returns to action Friday when it hits the road to play Navy at Annapolis, Md.
