Valley Sports ReportELMIRA — Waverly sophomores Daniel Brady and Griff Walter each shot in the 90s in the STAC Boys Golf Championships here Tuesday at the Soaring Eagles Golf Course.
Brady shot a 95 on the par-72 course, while Walter carded a 97.
It was a solid day at STACs," said Waverly coach Marc Felt.
"Daniel Brady played better than the number shows," noted Felt. "He was steady throughout the day and gave himself plenty of looks inside 10 feet for par, but the putts just didn’t fall.
"Still, Daniel capped off a great season where he lowered his scoring average by 10 strokes from last year.
"Griff Walter never quite found his rhythm," said Felt. "A couple of big numbers kept him from getting into a groove, but that doesn’t take away from the progress he made this year. He kept lowering his score week after week and showed great growth.
"Both players have made big strides, and I’m excited to see how they continue to develop over the next couple of years," added Felt.
