Valley Sports ReportNEWARK VALLEY — Tioga breezed through the first two sets, and fought off a challenge in the third en route to a sweep of Newark Valley here Friday night in IAC Large School volleyball action.
The Tigers, now 11-4, won by scores of 25-10, 25-4, and 25-9.
Senior Alyson Chamberlain led Tioga with 14 service points, including 11 aces, two setter assists, and five digs, while senior RaeAnne Feeko had 11 points (three aces), 13 assists, two kills and five digs, and senior Audi Zorn had eight points, three kills, four blocks and four digs.
Senior Lilly Mezzatesta had two points (two aces), six kills and seven digs in the win, while sophomore Vida Rossi had four points, five kills and two digs, and junior Vanessa Tunnicliff had three points and three assists.
Mary Divers recorded four digs for the Tigers, while junior Peyton Black added two kills and one block, Lydiah Decker had three digs, and senior Mia Hall chipped in with two blocks.
Tioga returns to action Monday at Candor.
JV — Tioga 2, Newark Valley 0: The Tigers won the junior varsity match by scores of 25-14 and 26-24. They also won an exhibition set, 25-18.
Lizzie Seck led Tioga with 10 points (two aces) and two kills, while Bailey Delmage had eight points (two aces), Brianna Lounsbury had three points (three aces), 11 kills, and five digs, and Kate Kithcart had two points, three kills, 18 assists, and nine digs.
Kendra Hale had seven points (two aces) and three digs in the win, while Courtney Smith had two points, eight kills, and three digs, Aniya Amerman had three aces and three digs, Kaylynne Miller added two kills and two assists, and Lillie Harmatuk chipped in with four digs.
