Valley Sports ReportWILLIAMSBURG, Va. — Waverly grad Joey Tomasso, a redshirt freshman on the Division I William & Mary football team, saw his first significant action here Saturday, and scored his first collegiate TD in a 37-7 win over the University of Albany.
Tomasso, an all-state record-breaking quarterback at Waverly, scored on a 5-yard run off a fake field goal early in the first quarter to give The Tribe a 6-0 lead.
Tomasso, who was playing wide receiver, also had his first collegiate reception for 7 yards in the win.
William & Mary, now 5-4, returns to action next Saturday at Campbell.
