THE VALLEY — Sayre senior Rylee Lantz and Athens junior Meg Wiles led their respective teams to District 4 volleyball titles, and Tioga senior Dominic Palmer played a big part in the Tigers locking up their eighth straight division title. They are the Valley Sports Report / Bishop Brothers Construction "Athletes of the Week," for the week ending Nov. 1.
SAYRE'S LANTZ, ATHENS' WILES NAMED BISHOP BROTHERS CONSTRUCTION GIRLS "ATHLETES OF THE WEEK"
Lantz averaged 16 kills in a pair of wins, leading the Redskins to the first District 4 title in program history.
Lantz had two service points, 15 kills, and two digs in a sweep of Sugar Valley in the Class A semifinals.
She had four points, 17 kills, two blocks and six digs in a four-set win over Canton in the championship match.
Wiles averaged 11.5 points, 28 setter assists and nine digs in a pair of wins to lead the Wildcats to their first District 4 title in 20 years.
Wiles had 13 points, including four aces, 20 assists and six digs in a four-set win over Shamokin in the Class 3A semifinals.
She had 10 points (two aces), 36 assists, 12 digs, and three kills in a sweep of Danville in the finals.

TIOGA'S PALMER NAMED BISHOP BROTHERS CONSTRUCTION BOYS "ATHLETE OF THE WEEK"
Palmer scored one TD and had a big game on defense to help Tioga to a 36-7 win over SVEC in the regular-season finale.
Palmer scored on a 36-yard run on his only carry of the night, and also had two receptions for 45 yards.
Palmer was an integral part of Tioga containing SVEC's standout running back Logan Aman. He recorded 13 tackles, including three solo stops and one tackle-for-loss, and had three QB pressures.
