THE VALLEY — Waverly and Tioga will be in action at the Section IV Cross-Country Championships at Chenango Valley State Park, while Tioga plays for a berth in Saturday's Class C volleyball championship match.

CROSS-COUNTRY
Section IV Championships at Chenango Valley State Park: Waverly will run in the Class C Championships, while Tioga will compete in the Class D race.

Freshman Reese Mills and senior Talon Wood are Tioga's best chances to earn a trip to States, while junior Chase Hine and sophomore Hayden Montanye are Waverly's best hopes.

Class C Semifinal Pool Play
1-Lansing (14-2), 2-Walton (15-1), 4-Tioga(13-4), 6-Trumansburg (9-7), 3:30 p.m. @ Lansing H.S.: The top two will advance from the round-robin format to play for the Class C title Saturday at Tioga Central High School.

Tioga will open play in the first match of the day against Lansing, then will face Trumansburg, and will close out the night against Walton.
