WAVERLY — The defending Section IV, Division 2 champion Wolverines opened the 2025-26 season with a sweep of Windsor Monday afternoon in STAC boys bowling action, while the Lady Wolverines earned a 4-1 win here at the Valley Bowling Center.
BOYS
Waverly 5, Windsor 0
Waverly opened the match with a win of 992-912 in the first game, then edged Windsor, 933-914, in the second game. The Wolverines closed out the match with a 938-887 win for a total-pinfall win of 2,863 to 2,713.
Sophomore Griff Walter led Waverly with a 619 series on games of 193, 211, and 215, and senior Derek Johnson shot a 607 on games of 229, 194, and 184.
Freshman Colten Santalucia had a 567 series, including a 204, for the Wolverines, and senior Tristan Campbell added a 543.
Junior Maison Apgar rolled games of 201 and 150, and sophomore Trevor Allen subbed in with a 176 in the third game.
Sawyer Beeman led Windsor with a 671 on games of 248, 235, and 188, and David Hull added a 592.
GIRLS
Waverly 4, Windsor 1
Windsor won the first game 808-757, but Waverly rallied with wins of 809-760 and 802-756 for a total-pinfall victory of 2,368 to 2,324.Ariel Houseknecht led the Wolverines with a 534 series, including a 204 in the third game, and Karis Hayes shot a 507, including a 212 in the second game.
Rylie Witman rolled a 485 in the win, while Abby Apgar added a 430, and Emmalyn Vanderpool tacked on a 412.
Area Medovich led Windsor with a 619 and Aubirana Tyler added a 595.
