CORTLAND — Sophomores Wyatt Chandler and Gianna Soprano, and junior Chase Hine each had top-six finishes to pace Waverly at the 607 Winter Track & Field 2 P.M. Invitational here at SUNY Cortland.
BOYS
Chandler had the top finish of the day for the Wolverines, placing fifth in the high jump, clearing the bar at 5-feet.
Hine placed sixth in the 1,600-meter run in a time of 5:06.99, and junior Jayden Washington was eighth in 5:14.24.
Senior Logan Roskow finished ninth in the 1,000-meter run in a time of 2:53.65.
Senior Aiden Doherty finished 11th in the shot put with a heave of 33-feet, 5 1/2-inches.
Sophomore Connor Bentley finished 13th in the long jump with a leap of 13-feet, and sophomore Owen Fassett was 19th at 14-feet, 1 1/2-inches.
Senior Hayden Howe finished 15th in the 300-meter dash in a time of 42.4 seconds.
Senior Andrew Larrabee finished 18th in the 55-meter dash in 7.39 seconds, while freshman Ethan Reedy was 21st in 7.56 seconds and Bentley was 22nd in 7.57 seconds.
GIRLS
Soprano placed sixth in the 300-meter dash in a time of 47.65 seconds. She was 14th in the 55-meter hurdles in 11.28 seconds.
Freshman Anna Fassett finished 10th in the shot put with a heave of 21-feet, 5 3/4-inches, and freshman Blake Norton was 17th at 13-feet, 9 3/4-inches.
Sophomore Terese Allen finished 11th in the 55-meter dash in a time of 8.51 seconds
Sophomore Miah Correll finished 13th in the 1,500-meter run in a time of 6:24.28. She was 14th in the 1,000-meter run in a time of 3:56.25.
Norton finished 17th in the long jump with a leap of 8-feet, 3 3/4-inches.
Waverly returns to action Saturday at the Section IV Classic at SUNY Cortland.
