WELLSBORO — Sayre led at the half, but only scored two in the second half as Wellsboro rallied for a 22-17 win here Friday night in NTL junior varsity girls basketball action.
McKenna Parrish scored four points in the first quarter to help Sayre to a 6-4 lead.
Brooke Roberts scored five points in the second quarter as the Redskins used a 9-4 run to build a 15-8 cushion at the half.
Sayre's offense was non-existent in the third quarter as the Hornets used a 10-0 blitz to take an 18-15 lead into the final eight minutes.
Wellsboro outscored Sayre, 4-2, in the fourth quarter to lock down the win.
Parrish led Sayre with eight points and Roberts added five.
Sayre, now 0-3, returns to action Wednesday when it hosts Wyalusing.
