WINTER TRACK & FIELD: ROSKOW, WASHINGTON, HINE PACE WAVERLY'S EFFORTS AT SECTION IV CLASSIC (2025-12-21)

CORTLAND — Senior Logan Roskow, and juniors Jayden Washington and Chase Hine each had a pair of top-four finishes here Saturday to pace Waverly at the Section IV Indoor Track & Field Classic 2 p.m. session.

BOYS
The distance medley relay foursome of Roskow, Washington, Hine, and freshman Ethan Reedy finished second in a time of 12:37.81.

Roskow finished third in the 600-meter run in a time of 1:34.31

Washington placed third in the 1,000-meter run in a time of 2:59.43, and Hine was fourth in 3:03.1.

Sophomore Jaxon Chandler placed fifth in the 55-meter hurdles in a time of 9.61 seconds. He also finished 11th in the high jump, clearing the bar at 5-feet, 2-inches.

The sprint medley relay foursome of Chandler, Roskow, seniors Andrew Larrabee and sophomore Connor Bentley finished eighth in a time of 4:17.11.

Waverly senior Aiden Doherty placed sixth in the weight throw with a heave of 29-feet, 2 3/4-inches. He was 13th in the shot put with a heave of 34-feet, 3/4-inches.

Sophomore Owen Fassett finished 14th in the long jump with a leap of 14-feet, 1 1/4-inches.

Reedy was 16th in the 55-meter dash in  7.42 seconds, while Bentley and Larrabee tied for 17th in 7.48 seconds.

GIRLS
Freshman Anna Fassett placed second in the weight throw with a toss of 23-feet, 8-inches, and senior Madison Cron was fourth at 22-feet, 11 1/4-inches.

Sophomore Gianna Soprano was seventh in the 300-meter dash in a time of 47.36 seconds. She also finished 10th in the 55-meter hurdles in a time of 11.48 seconds.

The sprint medley foursome of Soprano, Cron, sophomore Miah Correll, and junior Taylor Sinsabaugh finished eighth in a time of 5:14.93.

Correll finished 14th in the 1,500-meter run in a time of 6:07.24.

Cron was 21st in the shot put with a heave of 16-feet, 9 3/4-inches and freshman Blake Norton was 22nd at 16-feet, 6-inches.

Freshman Blake Norton finished 24th in the long jump with a leap of 10-feet, 1-inch.

Waverly returns to action Jan. 3 at the Quinney Invitational at Cornell University.
