Valley Sports ReportTHE VALLEY — The winter season pauses for a few days this week for a Christmas break, but there is some basketball and wrestling action before and after the holiday.
There are just nine events on the holiday week docket, including five on Saturday.
The following are all of the home varsity events this week, and a few of the notable road events:
MONDAY (2)
• Waverly hosts Wyalusing in non-league girls hoop action.
TUESDAY (2)
• Sayre hosts Northeast Bradford for a girls wrestling dual.
WEDNESDAY
There are no games on the schedule.
THURSDAY

FRIDAY
There are no games on the schedule.
SATURDAY (5)
• Athens hosts Tioga in the opening games of the Athens Holiday Boys & Girls Basketball Tournaments.
• Waverly is in action at the Frosty Freestyle Girls Wrestling Festival at Midlakes High School.
• Waverly plays Bishop O'Hara in the girls portion of the Palmer Tournament.
