THE VALLEY — Athens junior Jacob Shores had a strong regular season, consistently outperforming other Valley runners in the same meets. He is the 2025 VSR All-Valley "Boys Runner of the Year."
Waverly freshman Braiden Judson saw limited action due to injuries, but was the top Valley first-year runner in the events he competed in. He is the "Boys Newcomer of the Year."
Shores finished 32nd in the A-1 varsity race at the prestigious McQuaid Invitational.
He also finished ninth at the Bob Greene Invite at Newark Valley, 13th at the McDaniel-Baxter Invite at Chenango Valley, 17th at the Forbes Invite in Oneonta, and 19th at the "Dash in the Dark" at Owego Free Academy.
Shores, who was consistently the top Wildcat runner in duals, finished 45th at the District 4, Class AA Championships.
Judson broke the top 100 at the prestigious McQuaid Invitational with a 99th-place finish. His best regular-season finish was at the Stocke-Conwicke Invite in Vestal, where he placed 23rd — less than 1 second behind eventual state qualifier and teammate Hayden Montanye.
Judson finished 19th at the Section IV, Class C Championships.

Rossettie, junior Athens: Rossettie led the Wildcats at the District 4, Class AA Championships with a 29th-place finish.
Rossettie was 50th at the rugged McQuad Invite, 17th at the Bob Greene Invite, 21st at the McDaniel-Baxter Invite, 27th at the Forbes Invite, and 31st at the Dash in Dark Invite.
Chase Hine, junior, Waverly: Hine finished sixth at the Section IV, Class C Championships to qualify for States, where he finished 97th.
Hine finished 49th at the rugged McQuaid Invite. He was seventh 7th at the Marathon Invite, 14th at the Stocke-Conwicke, 19th at Bob Greene Invite, 23rd at McDaniel-Baxter, and 38th Dash in the Dark.
Hayden Montanye, sophomore, Waverly: Montanye finished seventh at the Section IV, Class C Championships to qualify for States, where he finished 87th.
Montanye was 87th at the McQuaid Invite. He was 10th at the Marathon Invite, 22nd at the Stocke--Conwicke, 25th at the Bob Greene Invite, 26th at the McDaniel-Baxter, and 71st at the Dash in the Dark.
Talon Wood, senior, Tioga: Wood had a strong postseason, finishing eighth in the IAC Small School divisional meet, 14th at the IAC Championships, and 35th at the very deep Class D Championships.
Wood finished 15th at Whitney Point Invite, 27th at the Marathon Invite, 32nd at the Bob Greene Invite, and 51st at the Dash in the Dark Invite.

Parker Wanck, senior, Athens: Wanck finished 35th at the District 4, Class AA Championships.
Wanck finished 140th at the prestigious McQuad Invite. He was 30th at at Bob Greene Invite, 37th at the McDaniel-Baxter Invite, 53rd at the Forbes Invitational, and 82nd at the Dash in Dark Invite.
