THE VALLEY — Like all of our top newcomers of the fall, Athens freshman Kayla Forbes made an immediate impact on her team, but Forbes played a key part in bringing a District 4 volleyball title back to Athens for the first time in 20 years. She is the Valley Sports Report All-Valley "Newcomer of the Fall."
Seemingly unflappable for a freshman, Forbes played with the poise of an upperclassmen.
She recorded team-highs with 304 digs and 396 serve-receives, to go along with 114 points, including 45 aces, 12 assists, three kills, and two blocks.
