Valley Sports ReportTHE VALLEY — 2026 kicks off with a pair of Valley teams in action as the Waverly boys wrestle at the Oneonta Rotary Tournament, and the Athens swim teams are at the Keep the Beat Invite.
WRESTLING
Waverly at Oneonta Rotary Tournament, 4 p.m.: Waverly will send its top eight wrestlers to the Armbar at the Armory Sunday in Halfmoon, N.Y., while the remainder of the team wrestles this weekend at the Rotary Tournament.
BOYS & GIRLS SWIMMING
Athens at "Keep the Beat" Invitational, 9 a.m. @ Elk Lake H.S.: The Wildcats will be one of seven teams in attendance at this year's Keep the Beat Invite.
Also competing will be Lake Lehman, Tunkhannock, Wellsboro, Towanda, Valley View, and Elk Lake.
