Valley Sports ReportEAST STROUDSBURG — Junior Hudson Malanoski reached the podium in Sayre's first meet as a varsity team here Saturday at the East Stroudsburg Warrior Indoor Track & Field Classic.
"It was a great start to our indoor season," said Sayre coach John Stevens. "We are now a varsity sport, so it opens up more meets we can compete at."
Malanoski placed third in the shot put in a field of 32 throwers with a heave of 43-feet, 4-inches.
Senior Emma Cole was 14th in the shot put with a throw of 22-feet, 10-inches.
Sayre returns to action Jan. 11 at Susquehanna University.
