Valley Sports ReportTROY — Division-leading Troy remained unbeaten in league play with a 52-29 win over Athens here Friday night in NTL Large School girls basketball action.
The Trojans took command immediately, scoring the first 17 points of the game.
Troy led 11-0 after the first eight minutes, then outscored Athens 21-8 in the second quarter to take a 32-8 lead into the halftime break.
The Wildcats outscored the Trojans, 21-20, in the second half.
Junior McKenna Jarvis led Athens with 13 points, seven boards, and two assists, while senior Ava Hughes had eight points and four rebounds, and sophomore Allison Kemp uahled down five rebounds.
Giana Renzi led Troy with 17 points, and Izzy Renzi added 14 points.
Athens returns to action Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Athens.
