TIOGA CENTER — Moravia raced out to a 17-point first-quarter lead, and cruised to a 55-26 win over Tioga here Friday night in IAC Small School boys basketball crossover action.
The Blue Devils outscored Tioga 21-4 in the opening eight minutes, then extended the lead to 32-8 at the halftime break with an 11-4 second-quarter run.
Junior Gavin Kithcart scored six points in the third quarter, and senior James miller added a 3-pointer as Tioga chopped two points off the deficit with a 15-13 advantage in the stanza. Moravia led 45-23 heading into the final eight minutes.
Kithcart led Tioga with 11 points and 14 rebounds, while Miller scored six points, junior Jack Bombard had three points and three rebounds, senior Brady Landmesser contributed eight boards and two assists, and senior Dominic Palmer grabbed four boards.
Tioga returns to action Tuesday at Candor.
