COLLEGE WRESTLING: TIOGA GRAD DUNCANSON PLACES SECOND AT FRANKLIN & MARSHALL OPEN (2026-01-13)

LANCASTER, Pa. — Tioga grad Ousmane Duncanson, a redshirt freshman at Division I Lock Haven, was 5-1 and lost a heartbreaker here Friday in the 165-pound finals at the Franklin & Marshall Open.

Duncanson, the 10th seed, built a 16-2 lead before finishing of pin of Bellarmine's Nicholas Piontkowski in 6:47 in the opening round.

In his second match, Duncanson turned his initial takedown into a pin of Millersville's Chase Bish at 1:46

Duncanson edged Kent State's seventh-seeded Chris Earnest, 5-4, in the round-of-16.

Duncanson scored a takedown with 31 seconds remaining in the first period to take a 4-3 lead, but Earnest scored an escape with 1:05 remaining in the second period to tie the bout at 4-4.

The duo spent the entire third period on their feet, and Duncanson was awarded a riding-time point for the win.

In the quarterfinals, Duncanson scored a 10-2 major decision over Air Force's Logan Fowler. Duncanson scored takedowns in all three periods, and accumulated nearly two minutes of riding time.

In the semifinals, Duncanson topped Virginia Tech's Ben Weaver, 4-2. 

After exchanging escapes, Duncanson scored a takedown with 1:01 remaining in the third period to take a 4-1 lead. Reader escaped with 47 seconds left, but Duncanson fended off his takedown attempts to secure the win.

In the finals, top-seeded Ryan Burton scored a late reversal to edge Duncanson, 7-6.

Duncanson scored a takedown midway through the first period, and led 4-2 after an escape early in the third period.

Burton took a 5-4 lead with 1:19 remaining, but Duncanson regained the lead with a reversal with 50 seconds remaining.

Just 14 seconds later, Burton scored a reversal to take a 7-6 lead, and rode out the final 36 seconds for the win.

Lock Haven, now 4-3, return to action Friday at the Davidson Duals.
