LIBERTY — North Penn-Liberty scored the first 40 points of the game on its way to a 56-7 rout of Sayre here Wednesday night in NTL Small School Division girls basketball action.
Haley Litzelman pumped in 15 points in the opening stanza to lead the Mountaineers to a 21-0 lead.
Litzelman added seven more points in the second quarter and Scarlett Graham scored six points as NP-L ran its lead to 40-0 before freshman Hailey Sanderson put Sayre on the board with a 3-pointer.
Sanderson led Sayre with three points and three rebonds, while Parrish had three points, senior Rylee Lantz had three boards and three blocked shots, and Olivia Thompson recorded three steals.
Sayre returns to action Friday at Canton.
