WINDSOR — Waverly had three wrestlers — senior Emma Vanderhoof, freshman Gianna Zieniuk, and 7th-grader Amelia Wright — reach the podium here Monday, leading the Wolverines to a 12th-place finish in the 43-team field at the second annual Windsor Lady Knights Invitational.

Union-Endicott won the team title with 144.5 points, edging out Section III's General Brown, which had 140 points, and Section III's Homer, which tallied 136.5 points.

Tioga finished 10th with 79.5 points, while Waverly tallied 76.5 points, Newark Valley was 13th with 74.5 points, SVEC was 26th with 39 points, and Owego Free Academy was 28th with 34.5 points.

Vanderhoof, the fourth seed, was 2-2 to finish fourth in the 126-pound bracket.

Vanderhoof decked Dundee-Bradford's Tinley Sheehan in 40 seconds in the round-of-16, then pinned fifth-seeded Rylynn VanTassel of Indian River in 3:49 in the quarterfinals.

Vanderhoof lost via 10-0 technical fall to top-seeded Riley Butler of West Genesee in the semifinals, then lost a 14-4 technical fall to second-seeded Mya Locke of Groton in the third-place match.

Zieniuk, the fourth seed, was 2-2 to finish fourth in the 145-pound bracket.

Zieniuk scored a 12-1 technical fall win over Sherburne-Earlville's Isabella Smith in the round-of-16, then edged fifth-seeded West Genesee's Layla Meany, 7-4, in the quarterfinals.

In the semifinals, Zieniuk lost via first-period fall to top-seeded Delaney Dixon in the semifinals.

In the third-place match, Zieniuk lost via second-period fall to third-seeded Jillian Howell of Chenango Forks.

Seventh-grader Amelia Wright was 4-1 to finish fifth in the 132-pound bracket.

Wright opened with a pin of Canisteo-Greenwood's Hailey Birdsall in the round-of-16, then lost to second-seeded Carmen Bishop of Groton via first-period fall in the quarterfinals.

Wright bounced back in the consolation quarterfinals with a pin of Liberty's Isabella Wagner in 1:19, then decked Elmira's Atlantis Cherry in 26 seconds in the consolation semifinals.

In the fifth-place match, Wright pinned Neveah Beach-Houck of Port Jervis in 1:53.

Junior Abby Sickler was 3-2 in the 120-pound bracket and finished one win shy of the podium.

Sickler beat General Brown's Grace Miller in a 10-0 technical fall in the opening round, lost via first-period fall in the round-of-16.

Sickler bounced back with a pin of Kaylin Harvey of Newark Valley in 5:20 in her first consolation bracket match, then scored a 14-3 technical fall of Akaylah Christian of Canisteo-Greenwood in her next bout.

Sickler then lost via third-period fall in the blood round.

Eighth-grader Jillian Presher was 2-2 in the 145-pound bracket.

Presher opened the day with a pin of Sidney's Summer McGough in 5:35 in the round-of-16, then lost to Meany, 4-1, in the quarterfinals.

Presher bounced back with a pin of Emily Cotterill of Groton in 3:45 in her first wrestleback contest, then lost to Smith via third-period fall in the blood round.

Freshman Abi Reedy was 1-2 in the 165-pound bracket, with her lone win a 73-second fall in wrestlebacks.

Eighth-grader Gabbi Sinsabaugh was 1-2 in the 120-pound bracket, with her lone win a 37-second pin of Dryden's Madelyn Myers.

Sophomore Faith Hyjek was 1-2 in the 138-pound bracket with her lone win a pin of Susquehanna Valley's Stringer Peyton in 1:29 in the opening round.

Seventh-grader Aniyah Rought was 0-2 at 94 pounds, freshman Gianna Ryloitt was 0-2 at 100 pounds, and senior Sydney Rosenbloom was 0-2 at 114 pounds.
