BEDFORD, Pa. — Junior Jordan Brown was Sayre's only remaining wrestler, and he served the Redskin program, reaching the podium here Saturday with a seventh-place finish at the Thomas Automotive Classic at Bedford High School.
Brown, who dropped into the consolation bracket Friday night with a loss in the 172-pound quarterfinals, was 2-1 Saturday.
Brown began Saturday with a 14-1 major decision of Clearfield's Tim Taylor in the blood round. Brown scored four takedowns to build a 12-1 lead, then tacked on a two-point tilt in the final 15 seconds.
In the consolation quarterfinals, Brown dropped a 9-0 major decision to Burrell's Ben Catullo.
In his medal match, Brown built an 8-0 lead through two periods on his way to a 12-1 major decision of Tri-Valley's Hunter Updegraf.
Burrell won the team title with 180 points, while Huntingdon was second with 179, and Chestnut Ridge was third at 177.5 points. Sayre finished 31st with 12.5 points.
