Valley Sports ReportTHE VALLEY — As basketball's regular season winds to a close, the individual wrestling postseason begins Saturday with the Section IV, Division 2 Qualifiers in Waverly and Newark Valley.
There are 30 events on this week's docket, including eight on Tuesday, and seven on Saturday.
The following are all of the home varsity events this week, and a few of the notable road events:
MONDAY (3)
• Athens hosts Wellsboro in NTL boys hoop action.
• The Waverly bowling teams host Chenango Forks.
TUESDAY (8)
• The Tioga boys host IAC Small School rival Newfield on the hardwoods.
• The Sayre girls host NTL Small School rival Cowanesque Valley on the hardwoods.
• Tioga hosts O-M on the bowling hardwoods.
WEDNESDAY (4)
• Athens hosts North Penn-Mansfield in a key NTL Large School Division boys hoop contest.
• Waverly hosts Oneonta in a STAC crossover boys basketball contest.
THURSDAY (5)
• Athens hosts division-leading Troy in NTL Large School girls basketball action.
• The Tioga boys are on the road to take on divisional hoop rival S-VE.
• Sayre hosts Northeast Bradford in an NTL Small School girls hoop match-up.
• Tioga hosts Groton on the hardwoods at the Valley Bowling Center.
FRIDAY (3)
• The Tioga girls host longtime IAC Small School rival S-VE on the hardwoods.
SATURDAY (7)
• Waverly hosts the Section IV, Division II Wrestling Qualifier B.
• Tioga will wrestle at the Section IV, Division II Wrestling Qualifier A at Newark Valley.
• Tioga hosts IAC North for Dryden in a boys basketball contest.
