STAC BOWLING: WAVERLY BOYS, GIRLS EARN WINS OVER FORKS, HORSEHEADS (2026-02-02)

WAVERLY — The Waverly boys and girls picked up wins over Chenango Forks and Horseheads in recent STAC bowling action.

The Lady Wolverines swept both matches, while the Waverly boys swept Forks, and topped Horseheads, 4-1.

BOYS
Waverly 5, Chenango Forks 0

Tristan Campbell and Derek Johnson rolled 600 series to lead the Wolverines to a lopsided sweep of Chenango Forks Monday at the Valley Bowling Center.

Waverly won the first game 1,025-830, and followed it up with wins of 959-869 and 911-809 for a total-pinfall win of 2,895 to 2,508.

Campbell led Waverly with a 629 series on games of 246, 205, and 178, and Johnson rolled a 603 series on games of 217, 198, and 189.

Colten Santalucia shot a 598, including a 225, for the Wolverines, while Maison Apgar had a 553, and Griff Walter added a 512.

Chenango Forks' Landon Butenko rolled a match-high 698 series.

Waverly 4, Horseheads 1
The Wolverines won the first two games, then held on for a 9-pin total-pinfall win for a 4-1 win over Horseheads Thursday.

Colten Santalucia led Waverly with a 630 series on games of 226, 217, and 177, while Trevor Allen shot a 593, including a 222, and Maison Apgar rolled a 570, including a 200.

Derek Johnson added a 543 series, while Tristan Campbell shot 320 over two games, and Griff Walter tacked on a 158 game.

Noah Cody led Horseheads with a 618 series.

GIRLS
Waverly 5, Chenango Forks

Ariel Houseknecht and Karis Hayes led Waverly to a sweep of Chenango Forks Monday at the Valley Bowling Center.

Waverly won the first game 772-520, then followed it up with wins of 920-524, and 778, 483 for a total-pinfall win of 2,470 to 1,527.

Houseknecht shot a 573, including a 225, and Hayes rolled a 559, including a 213, to lead the Wolverines.

Rylie Witman had a 481 series for Waverly, while Emily Houseknecht rolled 297 over two games, and Emma Vanderpool tacked on a 103 game.

Waverly 5, Horseheads 0
Waverly rolled to a 2,320 to 1,403 total-pinfall sweep of short-handed Horseheads Thursday.

Rylie Witman led Waverly with a 545 series, including a 206, and Ariel Houseknecht shot a 506.

Karis Hayes rolled a 482 series for the Wolverines, while Aby Apgar added a 445, and Emmalynn Vanderpool tacked on a 340.

Waverly returns to action Wednesday against Owego at the Owego Bowl.
